Dr. Peter Sammons serves as Assistant Professor of Theology at The Master’s Seminary. Born into a non-Christian home in Jefferson City, Missouri, he first understood and embraced the gospel in high school and, shortly thereafter, was introduced to theology through the writings of John Calvin, Martin Luther, and other reformers. After studying philosophy and theology at Olivet Nazarene University near Chicago, Dr. Sammons came to The Master’s Seminary in 2008. The school’s connection to the local church was the main reason he chose TMS. He wanted to invest his life in the local church and be trained academically in that context. In 2011, Dr. Sammons completed his Master of Divinity. A year later, he graduated from the Th.M. program. And in 2017, he completed his Ph.D in Systematic Theology. Alongside his faculty position, Dr. Sammons will continue to provide leadership to academic publishing efforts at the seminary, including The Master’s Seminary Journal. Dr. Sammons and his wife Gabrielle have two children, and attend Grace Community Church, where they serve in the GraceLife fellowship group.
