What Alumni Have Said
Can I really afford seminary?
If God has called you to ministry, He will also provide the means for you to train for it. And as you look for a job, a place to live, and the funds for tuition, the staff, faculty, and students of TMS are eager to walk alongside you as He equips you for gospel ministry.
What financial aid is available to M.Div. students?
Our ministry partners enable us to offer the Full-Time Residential Scholarship to every M.Div. student . Just by attending TMS full-time (11 units or more) in Los Angeles, your cost is reduced from $465/unit to $310/unit.This does not take into account any other scholarship you may be awarded.
While the majority of funds are reserved for students who have completed at least one or two semesters of coursework, nine scholarships are available to incoming Master of Divinity students. These scholarships are awarded in addition to the Full-Time Residential Scholarship.
How will TMS care for my wife and kids?
Seminary is a season of growth for the whole family, not just you as a student. With this is mind, we do our best to care for your family in several, intentional ways. As a student, your wife will have the opportunity to participate in Seminary Wives Discipleship, a training ministry for students’ wives; Every Woman’s Grace, a weekly women’s Bible study at Grace Community Church; and receive theological training at The Master’s University.
Likewise, your children will have the opportunity to get involved in the various youth ministries at GCC—from nursery all the way through college. You will also have the option to participate in GCC’s preschool program, The Master’s Kids, send your kids to Adventure Club on Sunday evenings, and even homeschool alongside other church families.
As an incoming international student, what important considerations should I be aware of?
In addition to the usual application materials and procedures, international applicants must meet the following three requirements:
- International applicants whose native language is other than English, will need to provide a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score dated within the last two years.
- Each international applicant must have their Official Transcript sent to TMS directly from their former institution(s).
- Course-by-course Translated and Evaluated Transcripts are also required for all prerequisite degrees.
