Anchorage Grace Church (AGC) has been a distance-location campus for The Master’s Seminary (TMS) since 2018. We offer Alaska-based students the exact same Master of Divinity program as the Los Angeles TMS campus founded by the late John MacArthur. Through our hybrid-class format, students can benefit from the faithful expository training of TMS without needing to uproot their families and relocate to California

Addressing Alaska’s Greatest Need

Alaska’s greatest spiritual need is for faithful churches to be led or planted by men who are called, qualified, gifted, and trained to shepherd God’s flock with the Word. But there are numerous prohibitive factors involved in sending Alaskans to the Lower-48 to receive such training. This is why we started our Master’s Seminary Distance Location campus, so we could provide seminary training here in Anchorage, the central hub of our state. We pray that one day, pulpits throughout our state will be filled with expository preachers, men trained at our TMS distance location and sent out to the far reaches of the last frontier

Modeling and Teaching Expository Preaching

Anchorage Bible Church believes the job of the pastor is to teach the Scriptures, not share personal opinion or commentate on the culture. Students at the TMS Anchorage location will get to see expository preaching modeled each week and they will also have plenty of opportunities, both in their education and in context of the local church, to preach God’s Word, verse-by-verse.

Anchorage Bible Church Distinctives

Students who attend the TMS distance location in Anchorage will also have the opportunity to see a healthy local church live out the distinctives of gospel ministry. At Anchorage Bible Church, students will experience transcendent worship centered on the work of God through Christ. They will benefit from the expository preaching. They will have the opportunity to build community united around the gospel. And they will be called to go and make disciples, reaching the lost with the truth of the gospel
